Rabbi Dr. Jonathan Sacks, Jan 2004
"The idols of today are unmistakable - self-esteem without effort, fame without achievement, sex without consequences, wealth without responsibility, pleasure without struggle and experience without commitment"
ViCiOUS Rabbi!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with the first two. Less keen on the others. Maybe it should be RabbiD r Jonathan Sacks. Or maybe I'm just an idolator!!
ReplyDeleteHardhitting, sobering quote. Pretty much hits the mark for how things are today, at least stateside. Not much else could explain the glazed-over-eyes look so prevalent today, the wistful 10,000 yard stare of people who seemingly have it all but are still left wanting.
